Planning and consultations

How does a bathroom remodel with you start?

With a phone call. We'll ask a few questions about the room and what you'd like to change, then arrange a visit to measure and look at the existing conditions. After that we prepare a written, itemized proposal.

Do I need to have a design ready before the consultation?

No. It helps to know what frustrates you about the current bathroom and to have a few photos of rooms you like, but most people finalise layout and finishes with us after the first visit.

Which parts of the Tampa area do you cover?

We work in Tampa and in surrounding communities including Brandon, Riverview, Wesley Chapel, Lutz, Carrollwood and South Tampa. The service areas page has more on each. If you're just outside those, ask.

Do you only do complete remodels?

No. Alongside full bathroom remodeling, we take on focused projects such as shower rebuilds, tub-to-shower conversions, vanity replacements and new floors.

During the remodel

How long will my bathroom be out of use?

It depends on scope. A vanity or floor replacement is a matter of days; a full remodel runs for weeks, particularly if drains move, inspections are needed or custom glass has to be measured after tile. Your proposal includes an estimated schedule. This guide explains the stages.

Can I stay in the house during the work?

Almost always. We protect floors and walkways, contain dust as far as practical, and clean up at the end of each working day. If it's your only bathroom, tell us early so we can discuss sequencing.

Do I need to be home while you're working?

Not all the time. We'll agree access arrangements at the start. It's helpful to be reachable for decisions, especially around demolition, when hidden conditions come to light.

What if my HOA or condo association has rules?

Many do, covering work hours, parking, dumpsters or approval before work starts. Share the rules with us and we'll plan around them. Any approval application is usually made by the owner, and we can provide scope details for it.

Design and materials

What materials hold up best in Florida humidity?

Porcelain tile, a continuous waterproof membrane behind shower walls, moisture-resistant board and paint elsewhere, and cabinetry that isn't raw particleboard. Just as important is an exhaust fan that's sized correctly and vents outside. See our ventilation guide.

Should I replace my tub with a walk-in shower?

If nobody uses the tub and there's another one in the house, a shower usually makes the room more useful. If it's the only tub and you have young children or may sell soon, think carefully. We cover the trade-offs in walk-in shower vs bathtub for resale.

Can I supply my own fixtures or tile?

Often, yes. We'll check they're suitable, confirm quantities and lead times, and explain in the proposal how owner-supplied items are handled.

Can you make my bathroom easier to use as I get older?

Yes. Low-threshold showers, grab bar backing, seating and comfort-height toilets can be built into any remodel. See accessible bathrooms.

Estimates and paperwork

How much does a bathroom remodel cost?

It depends on scope, layout changes, finishes and the condition behind the walls, so we give prices after a site visit rather than by square foot. Our cost page explains the factors and how our estimates are structured.

Is the estimate free?

Ask us when you book. We'll confirm how the consultation and estimate work before the visit, so there are no surprises.

Will my project need a permit?

That depends on the work involved and on which authority covers your address, such as the City of Tampa, Hillsborough County or Pasco County. Requirements should be confirmed with the relevant building department for your specific scope. Our proposal states how permits will be handled where they apply. More on permits.

What about warranties, insurance and licensing?

Ask us at the consultation and we'll provide the details in writing with your proposal. It's good practice to confirm these with any contractor before signing.
