Three kinds of project we see most

Different bathrooms, different problems

The shower that has outlived its tub

A lot of Tampa homes still have a tub-shower combination in the hall bath and a garden tub in the primary that nobody climbs into. Replacing one of them with a generous shower is often the change people notice most day to day.

We look at the existing alcove size, where the drain sits in the slab and how far the floor can be recessed before recommending a conversion, a lower-threshold walk-in design, or a straightforward rebuild of the shower you already have.

The primary bath that should feel like the best room in the house

Primary suites give you more to work with: space for two sinks, a separate toilet room, a proper shower and sometimes a freestanding tub. They also give you more to get wrong, from vanity lighting to where the steam goes.

Our luxury bathroom work starts with a measured plan, and our guide on planning a primary bathroom walks through the decisions in order.

The small bathroom everyone shares

Five-by-eight hall baths are common in homes of every age around Tampa. They’re small enough that a wall-hung vanity, a sliding glass door or a recessed niche changes how the whole room works.

See our approach to small bathroom remodeling, or, if the room needs to serve someone with limited mobility, how we plan accessible bathrooms with wider entries and safer floors.

Built for this climate

What a Florida bathroom has to survive

Tile and fixtures are what you see. What decides whether a bathroom still looks good in fifteen years is mostly hidden: how the walls are waterproofed, where the moisture goes and what the floor is sitting on.

Humidity that never leaves

Outdoor air here is humid for much of the year, so a bathroom has little chance to dry out on its own. Fan sizing, ducting to the outside and run-time controls matter more than in drier climates. Our guide to bathroom ventilation in Florida explains why.

Water behind the tile

Grout is not waterproof. In a shower, the membrane or board system under the tile is what keeps water out of the wall. We treat it as the most important layer in the room, and our tile work is planned around it.

Concrete under your feet

Many homes in the area are built on a concrete slab. That affects moving a drain, building a curbless shower and choosing bathroom flooring, and it’s something we check early, not halfway through demolition.

How a project runs

Decisions first, demolition second

Most remodel stress comes from choices made too late. We try to settle layout, materials and scope before anything comes off the wall. More about how we work.

  1. Consultation

We talk through the room, what bothers you about it and what you’d like instead, then look at it in person.

  2. Design and selections

Layout, fixtures, tile, vanity and lighting are chosen and measured so the plan fits the real room.

  3. Written proposal

An itemized scope and price, with any unknowns (like conditions behind old tile) stated up front.

  4. Build

Demolition, rough-in, waterproofing, tile and finish work, with the house protected along the way.

  5. Walkthrough

We go over the finished room together and note anything that needs attention.

Budget

What will your bathroom cost?

It depends far more on scope than on square footage. Moving a drain, switching a tub for a curbless shower or choosing large-format tile each move the number more than the size of the room does.

Our bathroom remodel cost page explains the main cost drivers and how we put an estimate together. For a line-by-line look at where money goes, read where a Tampa bathroom budget goes.

  • Layout changes and plumbing moves
  • Shower type, size and waterproofing system
  • Tile size, pattern and amount of wall covered
  • Vanity construction and countertop material
  • Conditions found behind existing walls and floors
